Groove academy is a Deejay and Music school aimed to empower the youth with all the necessary skills and knowledge that is fundamental for aspiring artists, DJs and producers.

Sibongile Mara

Sibongile Mara

Sibongile Mara is the Senior Customer Service Consultant at SAMPRA and the SAMPRA Development Fund, where she researches, resolves performer queries as well as ensuring that the membership forms are accurately completed and loaded on the system. Her responsibility also includes tracing performers who have earned ensuring that the royalties due are paid to them. Though she only joined the SAMPRA team in 2019, her music collection administration journey started in 2010 where she joined the Performers’ Organisation of South Africa, formerly known as POSA as well as the South African Music Rights Organization.
Dj Ganyani

Dj Ganyani

DJ Ganyani, active since the 1990s, became a major figure in South African house music in the early 2000s. His breakthrough came with the compilations Simunye House Grooves Vol. 1 and 2, followed by his long-running series, Ganyani’s House Grooves, reaching ten volumes by 2017. Ganyani has performed widely, from nightclubs to stadiums, alongside artists like T-Boze, DJ Tira, and Little Louie Vega, and collaborated with Big Nuz.

Born Ganyani Tshabalala in Soweto, he founded Ganyani Entertainment in the ’90s, catering to corporate clients. By the 2000s, he was established in the club scene and was commissioned by the South African Development Community (SADC) to compile the Simunye House Grooves collections, promoting unity (“Simunye” means “we are one” in Zulu). The first volume, released in 2001, earned him a gold disc and significant recognition.

A talent in all various electronic dance music scenes, an events curator, a music producer and record label owner born and bred in Johannesburg, South Africa, boasting a successful career since the early 2000’s to date DJ Buhle, continues to innovate, inspire and grow beyond measure as a great music personality and influence in the South African music industry.

As a curator DJ Buhle has collaborated with venues across Johannesburg to create an experience unlike the ordinary from the township of Soweto right through to the urban suburbs collaborating with movements and clubs, the infamous Truth Night Club, & Club, Carfax and many more still counting…
